Climates and Anticlimactics
My last day of undergraduate classes ended today and it was completely anticlimactic. And the climate did a turnaround, too -- instead of sunny, happy summer weather we're back to standard Bostonian April/March/November/October/whatever, nondescript cold rain that never seems to end. It's amazing how precisely rain can affect one's state of mind in a matter of a few hours.
Well, school's over: I got two research papers to write (when?), and three weeks to go, and I'm an unemployed college graduate with a liberal arts degree. But I get to don a graduation cap and go to senior gala in a purple dress (yes, I made the decision: purple, not blue!). A bachelor of arts.
Graduation is three weeks away and I have absolutely nothing planned afterwards. This is not where I thought I would be at this time.
In all honesty, I am still hoping for something to come together so I can find a job before the commencement ceremony. Just symbolically, for me. Otherwise, there doesn't appear to be a reason to be celebrating and there are very few things as frustrating as a supposed celebration of accomplishment without a sense of achievement.
I at least need to end this chapter correctly.
